Systems Thinking and Lean Programme
for Agrifood Professionals - Rural PM Academy

Why this programme

Agrifood organisations are operating in increasingly complex environments shaped by cost pressure, supply disruption, workforce instability and evolving sustainability expectations.

This programme supports professionals in developing practical capabilities to:

  • Diagnose systemic inefficiencies

  • Improve operational and resource flows

  • Reduce avoidable waste and process friction

  • Strengthen resilience across operations and supply systems

  • Redesign internal workflows and operating structures

The focus is applied implementation through practical tools, collaborative learning and operational redesign.

 

Who should apply

This programme is designed for professionals with active operational responsibilities across agrifood systems, including:

  • Operational managers

  • Sustainability and transformation leads

  • Production and manufacturing managers

  • Cooperative coordinators

  • Public food system professionals

  • Agrifood consultants and advisors

 

Participants should currently hold responsibilities linked to operations, coordination, improvement or organisational development.

6 modules delivered over 6 weeks.

  • Systems Thinking Foundations

  • Diagnosing Organisational Challenges

  • Lean Tools for Internal Efficiency

  • Resource Mobilisation Strategies

  • Designing Enhanced Operating Architectures

  • Integration & Applied Project Development

 

Total learning time: 19.5 hours (blended delivery).

Gains and Outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants will have:

  • Developed a mapped overview of their organisational system

  • Identified priority inefficiencies and operational constraints

  • Applied lean tools to real organisational workflows

  • Designed improved operating structures and coordination flows

  • Built a practical roadmap for operational improvement and implementation

This programme is designed to support practical organisational improvement rather than theoretical learning alone.

Applications open: 15 May - 13 June 2026
Programme delivery: 24 June - 29 July 2026

Programme Fee: €1,100 (tax included)

Cohort size is limited to 20 participants to support applied learning, peer exchange and practical implementation quality.

Applications are reviewed to ensure alignment, commitment and active professional engagement.
